Welcome back, Create and Inkspire fans! I'm back with you again this month with another Christmas card to get your creative wheels turning. This year is half over now (whew, I know!), and if you haven't gotten started making your Christmas cards yet, now is as good a time as any! This month, I have an easel card to share. This one is pretty simple in design, but I think it still makes an impact. I used a cut file from Bird's Cards called Snowflake Easel Card. I'm not sure if she still has this file available for free, as she has changed a lot of things on her blog. She does still have some free ones though, so it's worth a look if you have a cutting machine of some sort.
Anyway, I resized the file a bit bigger, and cut it from Bristol Smooth card stock. I had decided that I was going to ink blend my card with my newly acquired Speckled Egg Distress ink. :) Of course, it blended beautifully, which made me happy! I inked up every visible area of the card base, and glued all the pieces together after the ink was dry. The sentiment comes from the Christmas Phrases 2 set by Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I cut the words 3 times also from the Bristol smooth, and inked up the top layers in an ombre fashion. I really like the way sentiments look when done this way! To add even more sparkle to the card, I used Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen on the sentiment, which I hope you can see in the close up.
And that's it for this Create and Inkspire Christmas card edition! I hope you enjoyed my card. Take care, my friends! :)
